Used for checking the thickness of the dome prior to fly cutting or any material removal.  Our piston dome thickness checking fixture is "built".  We start with 1/4" steel plate, then we Blanchard grind it so it's flat.  We have designed the indicator head so it rests on a collar that can be adjusted for height by an adjusting set screw accessible from the top.  The head swivels so you can get the piston on and off easily.  The included indicator reads in .001 against a carefully sculpted pointer anvil.
